Meet Ana
Her journey from Oaxaca’s Valles Centrales to owning Columbus, Ohio’s Tacos Rudos is a testament to her unwavering dedication and love for authentic Mexican food.
Arriving in the United States as a young girl, and surrounded by family members who also worked in the industry, Ana’s first experiences in the workforce revolved around food service. These encounters fostered Ana’s passion for the culinary, leading her to pursue her dream of owning her own restaurant.
Today, at Tacos Rudos, Ana’s vision comes to life as she creates dishes that embody the vibrant flavors and rich cultural heritage of Mexico. Through Tacos Rudos, Ana invites you to experience the warmth and hospitality of her home’s cuisine—a journey that began with her family and continues to flourish in every dish served.
“The authentic taste comes from family recipes that live in the heart”
Our Story
Drawing inspiration from our story and different areas of Mexico, our menu boasts fanatic flavors, each carefully prepared to evoke the diverse landscape of Mexico’s intensive history with food.
Tacos Rudos first was incubated inside of Budd Dairy Foodhall, selected as one of nine concepts amongst hundreds of other concepts, ideas and amazing chefs. The team presented and tested recipes in the heat of competition fighting for one of the nine spots and after multiple rounds of head to head cookoffs, Tacos Rudos was selected as one of the Founding partners at Budd Dairy Food Hall.
The term Rudos hails from Mexican wrestling, where the antiheroes, The Rudos, clash with the Tecnicos. Relatives of the Tacos Rudos team, trained as wrestlers in Mexico City during the 70’s and 80’s.
Enriching our brand with our story, we chose the name RUDOS and The Mask which proudly adorns our logo.
Our food is inspired by flavor from the streets of Mexico, our delicious red snapper fish taco is inspired by the Ensenada fishing region in the north of Mexico, our house-made corn tortillas remind us of fresh tortillas in the southern state of Oaxaca and the Al Pastor taco is a staple of Mexico city. And let’s not forget about the grilled Asada taco, one of the most beloved tacos in northern Mexico!
